Doing my Rhetorical Analysis and Summary was a lot easier than expected. I feel that doing the summary was a lot harder than doing the analysis. The summary was hard to just focus on what the documentary was about rather than my opinion. But the things we went over in class, to where we focus on talking out how we felt about the film and giving our opinion. Doing that I feel was a lot easier since I got all my opinions out and I got to writing my summary and just thought about the film. Once I had the summary done we went to the analysis.
Doing the analysis was much easier since I had the summary in front of me that I wrote and thought about where ethos, pathos, and logos all fell into place. How I wrote my analysis was I focused on a specific scene for the pathos of where I thought the most emotion was. Then I intertwined the ethos and logos with the overall film and how they used these analysis throughout the film. I really like how we could focus on one specific scene with one of the three, then do what you want with the other two. I am really glad we got to submit this before the weekend, then get to focus on what to change next week, finally submit it before spring break.
Overall I believe this project was a very interesting way of writing. I like how we got to do it based off of a film rather than a book, or short story. I like how it was brought up and how we got to write it in the way we did. I really liked my film, I did not expect myself to like it as much as I did. I think this project was a very different piece and way to write. I believe that every student should get to experience writing about a film rather than a book.

Hello, Shannon! I love the typewriter like font you chose for your blog! I'm glad that the Rhetorical Analysis assignment went well for you. I'm curious why writing an analysis was easier in your opinion compared to writing just the summary. I agree that writing about a film gives students important knowledge as it requires a lot of thought into Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. To me, writing about a book is a bit different than scenes of a movie say more than just words. I'm also now curious what the difference is in your opinion?
