Everyone Deserves a Break

In Card 101-1 this week, we concentrated on our documentary project. I really appreciate that we had peer evaluations so that we could see what other people thought of each other's films. Along with how I came to realize what I needed to add or how I might be of assistance to the other individual. I also appreciated the fact that we were given instances to consider and that we discussed one of them in class. I was able to reflect on mine and see what I needed to improve and include in my summary and analysis after doing so.

I also really liked how we changed our free writing for 10 minutes this week. I have had a lot on my mind and I wrote a lot of it out. I also liked what we did today. Where it was half reflection on what we need to fix in our documentary summary and analysis. It was a good check list for me to go off of and I got to fix most of it in class. I also liked how the other half we did free writing and just got to think and reflect then just free write.

After this week it is spring break! Everyone deserves this break. I am so excited to go to Florida and have a relaxing break. I also really appreciate the fact that she made the documentary project due on Friday rather than having to worry about it over spring break. I think this break is gonna be a really good recharge for me and I believe many others could probably agree with me. It is really gonna help me get through the last stretch of this semester. I can not believe we are already going into our spring break. It is absolutely insane! I hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing spring break, y'all deserve it! :)

Week Recap

Card 101 was a really knowledgeable week this week. This week taught me a lot. We had research skill training on Monday. I gained a lot of knowledge from the things we discussed and discovered. The webpage that we may use to access the library website was fantastic. The statements beginning with "Or" and "And" were my favorites. I find it fascinating how much those two words may alter during the course of research. For instance, how much they both explicitly narrow down what you are seeking for. I really enjoyed the sheet she gave us and how we could go in some direction if necessary. I just believed that doing this demonstrated our familiarity with the research method, but it will also aid in simplifying the procedure and make it simpler to identify trustworthy websites.       After that, we had a workday on Wednesday. We helped someone with their topic by guiding them through the process of reducing a wide topic to a more focused on...

Warm-up to the End

For my Rational Argument it was hard for me to pick a topic. I narrowed it down to three different topics and decided on my topic after that. For me choosing a topic is not that bad because there are many topics to choose to argue about. But the thing that is hardest for me is finding reliable sources. For finding one I read through certain sections to make sure it is good enough for my point or if it counters it to make sure I have a thing to back it up. I am pretty positive my sources I have so far are pretty reliable and I am confident with them.       The other thing that I oddly struggle on is just trying to write small pieces of the paper at a time. I love to just write the whole paper whether it is a “Shitty First Draft” and it might not be an A paper. I like it because once I get on a roll with writing a paper I honestly dont wanna stop. For my first rough draft I already have 5 pages done but I am still not done with it. I found most of my sources to ...

Microtheme

I have never written a paper like this Microtheme before. It discourages you from taking a stand or trying to support your points with facts. This particular piece of writing will benefit my professional development as a writer. We are all so familiar with choosing sides and arguing for them. However, this goes further into writing and forces you to consider an idea you agree with without arguing for the point. This kind of writing will assist us in learning how to use our critical thinking skills more and keep our sentences brief and to the point.      I underestimated how difficult this piece would be. I found it quite difficult to choose a topic, especially given how use I am to support my claims with evidence. I eventually settled on a topic, but given the standards we must maintain, it was still incredibly challenging to write about. To the best of my ability, I wrote my rough draft using all the examples as a guide. I was stil...
